Michelle Abernathy is the Junior Kindergarten teacher at Covenant Christian Academy. She has a heart for early childhood development and feels called to help children grow not only academically, but spiritually. Mrs. Abernathy earned her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University and has dedicated her career to guiding and supporting young children in their early years.

She has been blessed with opportunities to teach in various capacities, including 16 years as a teacher and director at a Christian preschool in Maryland, followed by two years in Georgia’s Pre-K program. For the past five years, she has taught at Horse Creek Academy. Mrs. Abernathy is passionate about creating a warm, Christ-centered classroom where young children feel safe, loved, and inspired to learn.

Outside the classroom, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, including her children and grandchildren. She and her husband love taking camping trips and enjoying the outdoors. Mrs. Abernathy is grateful for the opportunity to partner with families and walk alongside young learners as they begin their educational and spiritual journeys.
