Christel grew up in the Augusta area and graduated from Augusta State University where she studied psychology and social work. She and her husband Trent now call North Augusta home. Their daughter, Evy, begins kindergarten at Covenant this year.

After discovering in college that social work could allow her to practically apply God's call to love and serve others, Christel began a 20 year career in the non-profit sector. Her work there focused on assisting low-income families to secure housing, to include teaching Financial Literacy and Homebuyer Education.

Christel's focus on other families shifted to full-time care of her own family after becoming a mom. She has found great joy in teaching and discipling her daughter, and Christel looks forward to multiplying that joy as she assists in the Jr Kindergarten class this year.
